The Evans PTA hosts many events and fundraisers throughout the year. Committees are needed to assist in planning and carrying out the events! For more information on each event, please see the descriptions below. Teacher Luncheon (9/5/12) - Co-Chairs: Margie Abate and JoAnne Harmon
The Evans PTA sponsors a Welcome Back Luncheon for Teachers, Administration, and Staff before the official start of school. The event is held in the cafeteria and is a fun way to start off the year! Volunteers are needed to plan the activity, as well as assist on the day of the event.
Joe Corbi's Catalog & Pizza Sale (9/14/12-10/1/12) - Co-Chairs: Cindy Higgins & Terri Verrone
The Corbi's catalog and pizza fundraiser is the biggest fundraiser the PTA has, and it occurs during the fall. Assistance is needed in planning and ensuring that all items are ordered and received.
Fall Book Fair (10/15/12-10/19/12)- Co-Chairs: Nancy Elwell and Cindy Higgins
The Fall Book Fair is a week-long event, in which the children can buy Scholastic books during their library time. Also, we host a family night during this week, where Evans families are invited to come with their children to purchase books and other items. The Fall Book Fair is a fundraiser, while the Spring Book Fair is a "give back" where books are discounted for our students. Volunteers are needed to help coordinate the planning, as well as assisting the children with their purchases during the week.
Room Parent Tea (10/3/12) - Co-Chair: Margie Abate
The Evans PTA hosts a room parent tea in the fall, where Room Parents are invited to come, meet other room helpers, receive valuable information, and start discussing their class parties. Volunteers are needed preparing the material to be distributed for the tea.
Pumpkin Carving Night / Fall Fest (10/25/12) - Co-Chairs: Sue Kubacki and Jennifer Martz
Pumpkin Carving Night is a great family night of fun, where Evans families are invited to the Evans Cafeteria, bring their emptied out pumpkins, and carve them. Stencils and carving supplies, as well as light snacks are provided. Volunteers are needed to coordinate the event, order supplies, and assist on the night of the event.
Halloween Candy Drive (11/1/12-11/12/12) - Co-Chair: Janet Wiedemann
The Halloween Candy Drive is a service where Evans families send in Halloween candy that they won't need. The candy is collected and brought to the Ronald McDonald house for children and families that are staying there. Volunteers are needed to assist in the drive, collection, as well as transporting the candy to the Ronald McDonald House.
Just Pretzels & Testing Day Treats (11/7/12 and 5/13/13) - Co-Chairs: Sandra Lommen and Tricia Midora
Once a year, the Evans PTA provides pretzels and juice to all Evans children at school, just because! Volunteers are needed to assist in the purchasing of the pretzels and juice, as well as on the day of the event.
Coupon Books (9/6/12-9/20/12) - Chair: Amy Domanski
This year, Evans PTA will offer the sale of the KidStuff Book as a fundraiser. Evans PTA receives 50% of all sales! Volunteers are needed to assist in the distribution of books, collection of sales income, as well as collection of returned books.
Chick-fil-a Fundraiser (11/19/12) - Co-Chairs: Erin Dixon and Larissa Campbell
Chick-fil-a Fundraiser is always a great night of fun, where Evans families are invited to the Marlton Chick-fil-a, and Evans receives a portion of all sales. The homeroom with the most sales receives a special treat! A limited amount of volunteers are needed in the planning of this event.
Turkey Trot (11/16/12) - Co-Chairs: Margie Abate
Turkey Trot is an event for all 4th Grade Evans students. It has become a right of passage and an event that all students look forward to once they get to 4th grade. Races are held and winners receive a frozen turkey for their families, donated by the Evans PTA!
Holiday Shoppe (12/3/12-12/7/12) - Co-Chairs: Beth Cribben and Vanessa Parrelli
The Holiday Shop is an event that the children love! During this sale, the children have the opportunity to shop for holiday gifts for all members of their family...moms, dads, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and even pets. Volunteers are needed to plan the event, purchase items for the sale, and on the day of the event to assist the children in shopping and wrapping of their gifts.
Family Day (1/21/13) - Co-Chairs: Jenn Mihalecsko & Nancy Elwell
Our annual Family Day is held on Martin Luther King Day at the Cherry Hill Skating Center. Families are invited to come and enjoy a day of skating and fun! Admission is free to all family members, and skate rental is free to all students. Volunteers are needed to plan as well as assist collecting tickets on the day of the event.
Have a Heart (1/24/12-2/13/12) - Co-Chairs: Margie Abate and Gina Roesch
Have a Heart is a service coordinated by the Evans PTA, where needed items, including toiletries, household items, and toys are collected and brought to the Ronald McDonald House for families in need. Volunteers are needed to plan the drive, as well as on the last day of the event to bring the donated items to the Ronald McDonald House.
Candy Bar Bingo (2/21/12) - Co-Chairs: Amy Domanski and Alyssa Clark
Candy Bar Bingo is always a night of fun and laughs as families join for a great time playing Bingo. Winners receive candy bars and refreshments are provided. The Evans PTA also runs a 50/50 during this event. Volunteers are needed to plan the event, order supplies, and assist during the night of the event.

Art Goes to School (Dates TBD)- Chair: Cindy Higgins
Art Goes to School is a volunteer organization that brings art appreciation classes to our schools. Volunteers participate in workshops where they are trained in fine art...no prior experience is necessary! The volunteers then bring the art into the classroom, where they teach the children about the appreciation of fine art.
Science Expo (4/19/13) - Co-Chairs: Ari Taylor and Jeanette Barnard
Each year in April, the PTA hosts an all day Science Expo for the school, and this committee is responsible for lining up educational presenters from around the region for this very special event, as well as providing assistance on the day of the expo. This is one of our biggest events of the year for the children, and is always a huge effort, but also a huge success!
McPrincipal's Night (4/16/13 - Tentative) - Co-Chair: Debbie Carraro
McPrincipal's Night is a great evening of fun, where Evans families are invited to the Marlton McDonalds, and Evans receives a portion of all sales. A limited amount of volunteers are needed in the planning of this event.
Mother's Day Plant Sale (5/8/13-5/9/13) - Co-Chairs: Cindy Higgins and Nancy Elwell
The Evans PTA coordinates a Mother's Day Plant Sale, where Evans children can order a plant to give as a gift. Volunteers are needed to assist in the ordering, as well as distribution of the plants to the children.
Teacher Appreciation Lunch (5/3/13) - Co-Chairs: TBD
One of the most rewarding days of the year for our volunteers is the Teacher's Appreciation Luncheon, held during Teacher's Appreciation Week every year. The Evans PTA makes sure all of our teachers, administrators, and staff feel as appreciated as they deserve on this special day. Volunteers are needed to assist in coordinating the event, send in items, as well as on the day of the event.
4th & 5th Grade Dance (5/17/13) - Co-Chairs: Gina Roesch and Nicole Mitcheli
The Evans PTA hosts a Dance Party for 4th and 5th grade students every year, complete with a local DJ. Volunteers are needed to plan the event, with decorations, as well as on the day of the event.
Family Movie Night (5/31/13) - Co-Chairs: Amy Domanski and Jenn Mihalecsko
Movie Night is always a big hit with our K-3 families. Families get to mingle while enjoying a movie under the stars at Evans. Volunteers are needed in planning this event, choosing a movie for the children to vote on, as well as on the night of the event.
Field Day (6/4/13) - Co-Chairs: Margie Abate and Beth Cribben
Field Day is a fun day for all children at Evans, where the kids get to participate in races and other fun outdoor activities. The Evans PTA also sponsors a Mr. Softee ice cream treat for all of the children! Volunteers are needed the day of the event to assist with activities.
Ice Cream Sundae Night (6/6/13) - Co-Chairs: Terri Verrone and Kim Recinto
On a hot night night in June every year, the PTA offers a refreshing break, with an Ice Cream Sundae night. Evans teachers serve our Evans families with a sundae, and it's a great way to mingle with other Evans families. Sundaes are free for all students and only $1 for other family members. Volunteers are needed to plan the event, order supplies, as well as on the night of the event.
Wawa Coupons - Co-Chairs: Allie Keenan and Alyssa Clark
The Wawa coupon fundraiser occurs various times throughout the year, where families have the opportunity to purchase coupons for a Wawa sandwich, and the Evans PTA receives a portion of the sales. A limited number of volunteers are needed to coordinate the sale.
School Store (10/12/12 and 3/8/13) - Co-Chairs: Vanessa Parrelli and Beth Cribben
The Evans PTA holds two school store sales each year, one in October and one in March. This committee orders all items for the sales as well as volunteers to assist the students with purchases on the day of the event. Items sold include pencils, pens, erasers, folders, etc.
5th Grade Party (6/18/13) - Co-Chairs: Sue Kubacki and Jennifer Martz
Every year, the Evans PTA hosts a party for graduating 5th graders, where refreshments are served and a special gift is given to each child. Volunteers are needed to plan this event, and assist on the day of the event with decorations, clean-up, and distribution if the gifts.
